AGNÉSSE by Ágnes Soltész – Porcelain – Delicacy – Presence
The AGNÉSSE porcelain rings are born as miniature sculptures for the hands. Each piece is made of individually shaped porcelain, created as a work that goes beyond the traditional concept of jewelry.
Their forms are often taller and more sculptural than what one would normally expect from a ring. At first glance, the material appears delicate and sensitive, almost fragile — yet it is surprisingly strong and durable. This is the unique duality of porcelain: behind its apparent fragility lies a quiet strength and a distinct presence when worn.
Their surfaces are alive and tactile — at times clean and restrained, at others richer in texture. Always guided by a harmony of form, proportion, and balance.
For me, porcelain represents another, more intimate side of creation. While my wheel-thrown, open-fire-fired objects shaped by a wabi-sabi sensibility are stronger and more dramatic, the porcelain rings express the softness, delicacy, and femininity within me. They are not opposites, but two different faces of the same creative world.
These pieces are not made as decorative jewelry, but as small wearable sculptures formed from porcelain. They are created to be noticed, to receive attention, and to be present on the hand. Each ring is unique and preserves the personal character of hand-shaped porcelain.
